Delete my account

Important information before deleting your Cuentas Claras LATAM account

This action is irreversible

Once your account is deleted, you will not be able to recover your information, groups, expense history, or contacts. Make sure to settle all pending debts before proceeding.

How to delete your account

From the mobile app

  1. 1Open the app and go to your profile (user icon in the top right corner)
  2. 2Tap "Settings" (gear icon)
  3. 3Scroll to the bottom of the screen
  4. 4Tap "Delete account" (small text at the bottom of the page)
  5. 5Select a reason and enter your password to confirm your identity
  6. 6Optionally, check "Also delete my uploaded receipts" if you want to permanently delete all your expense receipts and payment proofs from our servers
  7. 7Tap "Delete my account" and confirm in the dialog

Important note: Deletion is processed after a 7-day grace period. During this time, you can cancel the deletion by logging back into the app.

What happens when you delete your account?

All your personal information will be permanently deleted (name, email, phone, profile photo)

All your created groups will be deleted (other members will receive a notification)

All your expense history and balances will be deleted

If you are the last member of a group, the group will be permanently deleted

If you have an active premium subscription, it will be automatically cancelled (no refund for unused time)

You will not be able to use the same email address to create a new account for 30 days

Your expense receipts and payment proofs will be anonymized and remain visible to other expense participants. If you check "Also delete my uploaded receipts" when confirming, they will be permanently deleted from our servers

Data that is retained: For legal and security reasons, we retain certain anonymized data to maintain the integrity of shared records with other users. Receipts and proofs are anonymized by default; they are only deleted if you explicitly request it when confirming deletion.

Can't delete your account from the app?

If you have technical issues deleting your account from the app, contact us by email and we will do it manually.

Include in your email: your full name, email registered in the app, and a brief explanation of why you can't delete it from the app. We will process your request within a maximum of 10 business days.

Are you sure you want to delete your account?

Consider these alternatives before permanently deleting your account:

Simply stop using the app

There is no cost to keeping your account inactive. You can come back whenever you want and all your information will still be there.

Cancel your premium subscription

If cost is the issue, simply cancel your premium subscription and continue using the free plan.

Leave groups you no longer use

You can leave specific groups without deleting your entire account. Go to the group and tap "Leave group".

Disable notifications

If notifications are bothersome, you can completely disable them in Settings without needing to delete your account.
